Jean-Philippe Convert est un artiste français vivant à Bruxelles, philosophe de formation, actif dans les domaines de l’écriture, de la performance et de la vidéo. “AEIOU” travaille sur la musicalité de la langue. Cette vidéo, dont le dispositif est aussi aride que fascinant, a été conçue à partir du premier paragraphe de la nouvelle d’Henry James, “Daisy Miller”, dont l’artiste a composé et interprété une langue cryptique en cinq temps, correspondant aux cinq voyelles de l’alphabet.

Jean-Philippe Convert is a French artist living in Brussels, trained in philosophy, active in the fields of writing, performance and video. “AEIOU” examines the musicality of language. This video, the display of which is as dry as it is fascinating, is based on the first paragraph of Henry James’ short story, “Daisy Miller”, which inspired the artist to compose and interpret a cryptic language in five sequences, each matching one of the five vowels of the alphabet.
